Quick answers about working with Countyline, coverage types, and what to expect from an independent BC brokerage.

General

Where are you licensed to write insurance?

Countyline Risk Services Ltd. is a licensed insurance brokerage headquartered in British Columbia and is expanding its appointment footprint across Canada.

Are you an independent brokerage?

Yes. We are an independent Property & Casualty brokerage — we work on behalf of clients and place coverage with the insurer whose product best fits.

Do you handle ICBC Autoplan?

We can advise on ICBC Basic Autoplan requirements and, where offered, place optional auto coverage on top. Contact us for the current scope of ICBC services we provide.

How do I request a quote?

Use the online quote form or call 778-222-8125. A broker will follow up personally, typically within one business day.

How is my personal information protected?

We follow BC's PIPA and Canada's PIPEDA. Read our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Personal Insurance

Do I still need ICBC Basic Autoplan?

Yes. All BC drivers require ICBC Basic Autoplan. We help you layer optional coverage on top to close the gaps.

Personal Auto

Can I bundle auto with home?

In many cases, yes — bundling is one of the most effective ways to simplify coverage and often earn multi-policy savings.

Personal Auto

Is earthquake coverage included?

Most standard policies do not automatically include earthquake coverage. In BC we strongly recommend adding it — we'll walk you through options.

Homeowners

Why do I need condo insurance if the strata has a policy?

The strata policy covers the building's common structure — not your unit's improvements, your contents, your liability, or your share of the strata deductible.

Condo

Does my landlord's insurance cover my belongings?

No — your landlord's policy protects the building. Your belongings and personal liability are your responsibility.

Tenant

Can I insure a seasonal bike?

Yes — we can help structure coverage that reflects your riding season and storage arrangements.

Motorcycle

Am I covered when travelling into the United States?

Most policies extend into the U.S. — we always confirm territorial limits before you travel.

RV & Motorhome

Is my boat covered on my home policy?

Small watercraft may have limited coverage on a home policy, but most powered boats need a dedicated policy.

How much CGL do I need?

Limits typically range from $1M to $5M+, depending on your contracts, industry, and exposure. We'll help you right-size it.

Is a BOP right for me?

A BOP is a good fit when your business fits standard classes and you want simplified, cost-effective coverage in one place.

Business Owner's Package (BOP)

Is E&O the same as general liability?

No. CGL responds to bodily injury or property damage. E&O responds to alleged professional mistakes causing financial loss.

Professional Liability / E&O

We're a small business — do we really need cyber?

Small and mid-sized businesses are frequent targets because they're often less defended. Even one incident can be existential.

Cyber Liability

Do private companies need D&O?

Yes — private companies still face claims from investors, employees, customers, and regulators.

Directors & Officers

Do you insure new contractors?

Yes — we work with newly licensed contractors and help build a compliant program that satisfies GCs and project owners.
